Qualifications To qualify for the Supervisory Health Scientist, GS-601-15, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education Requirement: You must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. (This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained). AND Additional Requirement: You must demonstrate, in your resume one (1) full year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Service obtained in either the private or public sector that equips you with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position, such as the following: 1) Selection, design, use, and interpretation of assays to measure immune responses in human volunteers; 2) development and application of cutting edge technologies to establish, validate, and automate highly versatile assays characterizing the outcomes of vaccine clinical trials; 3) establishing operating procedures and work standards for a large, complex vaccine program; 4) serving as a subject matter expert on prospective assay requirements for various stages of the vaccine development process; 5) and conducting novel assays in conjunction with the development of new vaccines and the conduct of clinical trials.
