Summary If selected, you will provide logistical and material support to the New World Screwworm (NWS) Dispersal Facility (WSDF). You will also be responsible for the administrative and technical supervision of the assigned staff. Learn more about this agency Duties The duties may include, but are not limited to: Ensure compliance with the daily, weekly, and monthly schedule for the Dispersal Center. Ensure, maintain, and plan for safety measures at the Dispersal Center. Coordinate with the operations and maintenance department regarding any necessary tasks. Serves as the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for program functional areas. Monitors equipment utilization, prepares periodic reports on usage and assures that equipment authorizations are maintained on a current basis. Establishes policies and procedures for accomplishment of complex and evolving functions. Assures proper staffing for full continuity of operations in any emergency or exercise situation. Requirements Conditions of employment You must be a US Citizen or US National. Individuals who were born male after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt. Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check. Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served. New USDA supervisors must successfully complete all components of the required training program before the end of their probationary period. Qualifications Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. FOR THE GS-14 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Ensures all logistics activities associated with the management and deployment of assets (supplies and equipment) fully comply with legal and regulatory requirements, meet customer needs. Develops and refines plans for transporting inventories such as vaccines, disinfectants, antiviral, therapeutic products, personal protective equipment, and other supplies and equipment. Responding to logistical needs that are unprecedented and for which no real guidelines are available. Manages and tracks the expenditure of funds for procurement, storage, and transport of program materiel assets. Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education This position does not have an education qualification requirement.
