Summary This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Civilian Reference Services Branch. Incumbent performs tasks which are incidental to reference and correspondence services, accessioning, disposition, retrieval, relocation, refile, and interfile of records. Incumbent performs work in the digital conversion unit including prepping, scanning, quality review and document review. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. A one-year probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form i-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. This position requires candidates to pass a physical abilities test designed to measure candidates' ability to perform the physical requirements of the job. The test requires carrying 30-50 pound boxes like those found on the job. It also requires bending, squatting, and walking to reach the boxes in addition to climbing and balancing on a pulpit ladder up to 15 feet high. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. General Experience: You must have one year of general experience which includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR Education: 2 years of education above high school. OR Combining education and experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience.
