Summary This position is located at Departmental Offices, Domestic Finance. As a Policy Advisor, you will conduct research, writing, and analysis related to legislative and policy proposals for a wide range of proposals impacting the financial system, that may include financial markets and financial institutions. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Assist in developing written analyses or memoranda for decision making regarding financial institutions (e.g., banks, broker-dealers, credit unions, nonbank lenders, investment advisors and companies, financial technology companies, financial exchanges), the financial services sector, and financial intermediation activities and their implications upon safety and soundness, resolvability, risk levels, industry competition, financial innovation, and/or financial performance; AND Analyzing and presenting economic and financial information and data(e.g., financial statement analysis, prudential regulatory requirements, market and credit risk performance metrics) related to financial institutions, the financial services sector, and financial intermediation activities; AND Assist in developing written analyses or memoranda for decision making regarding the application of current and proposed laws, regulations, and supervisory policy regarding financial institutions and financial intermediation activities (e.g., federal and state financial laws, rules and policies issued by the federal banking, market, or consumer regulators). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Assisting in developing written analyses or memoranda for decision making regarding financial institutions (e.g., banks, broker-dealers, credit unions, nonbank lenders, investment advisors and companies, financial technology companies, financial exchanges), the financial services sector, and financial intermediation activities and their implications upon safety and soundness, resolvability, risk levels, industry competition, financial innovation, and/or financial performance; AND Analyzing and presenting economic and financial information and data (e.g., financial statement analysis, prudential regulatory requirements, market and credit risk performance metrics) related to financial institutions, the financial services sector, and financial intermediation activities. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
