Summary You will serve as a SOCIAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN in the HEADQUARTERS & HEADQUARTERS SQUADRON, EXECUTIVE OFFICER H&HS of MCAS CHERRY POINT. Learn more about this agency Duties You will conduct ongoing unit needs assessments to develop and modify a prevention plan aimed at reducing/eliminating substance abuse. You will perform administrative duties, such as record keeping, preparation of statistical reports and other miscellaneous reports and documents. You will coordinate prevention efforts with the installation Drug Demand Reduction Coordinator and the Substance Abuse Counseling Center. You will identify, evaluate, and recommend the referral of drug/alcohol abusers to the Substance Abuse Counseling Center via the Commanding Officer for screening and counseling. You will maintain an effective urinalysis and alcohol screening program per Marine Corps policies. Submits required drug and alcohol abuse reports. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and maintain on-base driving privileges. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide substance abuse prevention, urine collection for drug testing, breathalyzer test for alcohol screening, assistance to the commander on substance abuse related matters, and rudimentary substance abuse screening and referral services. Education In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on equivalent combination of education and experience, as follows: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree. OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent Additional information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
