Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare(CM). As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist referred to here as the Director, GS-0107-15, you will lead the division in supervising staff to develop and conduct analyses to implement the Negotiation and Inflation Rebate programs under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Learn more about this agency Duties Provides authoritative technical expertise and staff oversight of data analysis and research tasks required to implement the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program and the Medicare Prescription Drug Inflation Rebate Program. Leverages mastery of the wide range of laws, policies, regulations, precedents, legislation, issues, and program goals, including current trends and initiatives, to develop and implement new analytical approaches. Conducts research and analysis and serves as a technical authority on critical operational matters related to policies necessary to assure appropriate implementation of the Negotiation and Inflation Rebate Programs and related legislation. Leverages sophisticated analysis of a variety of data sets to support implementation of drug price negotiations and inflation rebates. In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Developing and conducting claims-based analyses related to drug pricing and interpreting results to support healthcare program or policy decisions; 2) Applying knowledge of Medicare claims data format and structure, analytic methods, and data limitations to analyze drug pricing; 3) Leading teams in carrying out drug pricing analyses, including mentoring staff, reviewing methods and outputs, and addressing technical issues; AND 4) Briefing senior leadership on technical and analytic findings and presenting complex information clearly to support healthcare program strategy, operations, or policy. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
