This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Conditions of Employment
The incumbent must complete Ammo certification requirements within 12months of assignment and new appointees must complete certification requirements within 12 months of initial appointment.
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing during employment.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Non-Critical Sensitive (Secret) security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
Must meet the physical requirements of the position. May be required to pass a pre-employment and annual physical examination.
This position requires possession of a valid, State-issued motor vehicle driverβs license.
Heavy Lifting up to 40 lbs is required.
TDY up to 5% is required.
Must be willing to accept a term appointment NTE 13 months and serve a 1 year trial period.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Ammunition Inspector ~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to do the work of an Ammunition Inspector without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the full range of duties including: responsibilities to perform visual inspections and mechanical and physical tests on equipment. I am skilled in identifying different types of munitions, and components and disassembly of munition and or knowledge of procedures for rendering ammunition unsuitable for its original purpose. I have experience with ammunition logistics to include shipping, receiving, storage and safe handling. I am some experience with computer operations and the logistics modernization program. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort-Frequently lifts items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally in excess of 40 pounds. May pull or push pallet jacks with loads of up to four thousand pounds. The work requires sitting, walking,bending, reaching/crouching, climbing, and long periods of standing. Work requires manual dexterity and mental, visual and muscular coordination.
Working Conditions-Work is performed indoors or outdoors. Work areas are generally well lighted, ventilated and some are heated. Workers are required to stand on floors made of concrete, lead or conductive composition. They are required to wear protective clothing; i.e., gas masks, safety shoes, rubber gloves. They are regularly subject to dirt, noise, fumes, and variations of weather. They may be exposed to explosives and/or irritants, i.e., TNT, Comp B, CS, and CN

One year trial/probationary period may be required.
