What you will learn and contribute to

The System support and Delivery (SSD) organization in Dallas, Texas U.S. has a need for a
knowledgeable and capable Test Engineer to support the LTE product software validation in Nokia lab. The SSD organization is responsible for testing of Nokia's LTE software and 4G-5G interworking in an End-to-End environment with US customer-like configurations, provisioning, and operations procedures.

The Test Engineer will have the responsibility for meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers through
leadership of effective test planning, design, execution, and follow-up on issues to ensure that our customers will
experience the highest quality possible. This engineer will work in partnership with other SSD test engineers to
understand product requirements, plan and implement system-level validation testing, and investigate internal or field found issues with product functionality or performance. The Test Engineer will also partner with Systems Engineering, Design/Development, Customer support, review designs and plans, recommend enhancements, analyze field-found issues, contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and otherwise help improve product quality.

Job Description

The test engineer may contribute to one or more aspects of SSD testing and operations, in support of LTE and 5G product validation, including:
• Testing to validate E2E product behavior, reproduction of field-found issues, single call and functionality verification, call load testing with real and simulated mobile devices, detailed KPI analysis. Configuration architecture and integration, eNB/FSM and other network element SW upgrades, installation of designer loads/patches, provisioning of Customer Templates and Work Orders, activation of features, etc. • Assessment of E2E network stability in an E2E environment, including KPI analysis. • Support Continuous delivery, DevOps feature/release commitments• Performing Statistical Analysis on customer Key Performance Indicators• Using RF skills to determine the root cause of KPI degradation such as: Call Drops and Call Accessibility/Retainability failures• Understanding complex RF environment seen at the customer sites such as various characteristics of RF/UEs operating in poor RF environment and how it relates to end user performance• Open trouble tickets for product defects found in during the testing and follow up to satisfactory closure• Be able to work individually and/or contribute as a team member of highly experienced and professional team

Your skills and experience• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science or Information• Technologies• 5+ years of Telecommunications Experience• General wireless telecom knowledge/4G-5G IWK and wireless call flows• Positive, open, solution-oriented attitude and a desire to take on challenging assignments as part of a team• Demonstrated strength in debugging and testing beyond defined test plans• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work items• Significant experience in feature test, system/cluster level test, network level test, or product support• Good verbal and written communication and effective negotiation skills• Strong knowledge of Radio product architecture E2E Network overview and interfaces • Experience with simulated and/or real UE call load generation tool is desirable• Familiarity/experience with test/debug of IP-based networked configurations is desirable
