Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for or certain personnel of the DOD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Acts as a liaison to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on maintenance, repair, and various other construction projects. Prepares or supervises preparation of basic information such as construction drawings, sketches, plans, cost estimates, bills of materials, detailed justifications and descriptions of scopes of work to be performed. Provides inspections and reports of contract performance for adherence to contract compliance, specifications, plans, government regulations, laws, and industry standards. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter. This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. This position requires a MD Superintendent IV/V SA Waste Water Operator Certificate. This position requires Water/Wastewater license. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. To qualify for the Supervisor Engineering Technician (Wastewater Plant) GS-0802-12 position, you MUST have the one of the following Basic Occupational Requirements shown below: I have specialized experience including technical work in the areas such as: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems. OR I have experience in a trade or craft that work required intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents for example trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as: a Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes or an Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated. OR I am certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies, an organization sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of the wastewater treatment plant/sanitary distribution and the installation water distribution system through wastewater treatment plant operators and industrial equipment mechanics assigned to the waterworks branch. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
