Learn more about this agency Duties You will interview and counsel military, Department of Defense (DOD) and other civilian personnel seeking housing assistance on-Base or off-Base. You will determine housing eligibility status through the screening process. You will process assignments/terminations of pay-related vouchers for service members assigned to/vacating from privatized military housing. You will fulfil various reporting requirements regarding applicant files, occupancy data and occupant history. You will conduct briefings to familiarize applicants and their dependents with housing regulations, procedures and policies. Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with accepting and reviewing housing applications and required documents; counseling applicants on housing eligibility and availability; and utilizing systems to maintain housing occupancy records. . Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Education substitution: Successfully completed four years of education above high school level. OR A combination of specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent.
