• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You must possess a current valid United States driver’s license and maintain on-base driving privileges.
• Employee may be exposed to corrosive acid fumes and chemical dusts.
• Employee will utilize Personal Protection Equipment while performing tasks that might expose the incumbent to hazardous chemicals.
• During destructive weather conditions such as, but not limited to ice, and snowstorms, high winds, and hurricanes, incumbent may be required to report to duty.
• This is an essential position, the Water Treatment Plant operates on a 7 days, 3 shifts daily schedule and the operators alternate working hours on all three shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• The incumbent must posses a NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources Water Treatment A-Well certificate.
• The incumbent must maintain eligibility for appointment as an Operator in Reasonable Charge(ORC) for regulated MCAS Cherry Point water treatment and distribution systems
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• In lieu of the Class A-Well certificate, the incumbent may possess a a valid B-Well certificate but must obtain and maintain the A-Well certificate within eighteen, (18 months), of appointment.
