Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located within the Family Advocacy Program, at the Desmond T. Doss Health Clinic, in Schofield Barracks, HI. Learn more about this agency Duties Develop and maintain professional standards of service. Initiate and implement changes in methods that will promote efficient practice and coordinate social work services with other programs of service. Perform crisis intervention services and appropriate triage to assist in the protection and safety of victims and families. Conduct comprehensive clinical intake interviews with children and adult family members regarding allegations of abuse or neglect. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis. This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption. Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. A pre-placement medical examination is required. Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges. This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. The duties of this position may require the incumbent to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization. This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/ or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Supervisory Social Worker (Family Advocacy): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: interviewing behavioral health patients involved in domestic violence or child maltreatment, obtaining various information (such as legal documents, investigation reports, social services notes, school records, etc.) necessary to make a determination of domestic violence or child maltreatment, preparing required reports and/or notes for behavioral health patients medical records, developing treatment plans, and making recommendations to multi-disciplinary teams. Must have experience in clinical supervision. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Selective Placement Factor: This position requires 2 years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse. Licensure/Certification: A current, valid, and unrestricted MSW State License to practice Clinical Social Work independently from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, Territory, or Jurisdictions is required and must be maintained (LCSW, LCSW-C. LICSW, ETC) IAW AR 40-68. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
