Full Stack Engineer

Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT). As a IT Specialist (APPSW/DATAMGT) referred to here as a Full Stack Engineer, GS-2210-09/11/12, you will provide technical and user support and consultation while contributing to analytical reporting efforts. Duties Develop and maintain user interfaces using standard web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Support the development of APis and database integration. Implements established coding practices and security protocols and analyzes and implements modifications to existing software applications based on established requirements. Manage database systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB to optimize query performance, and engineers data integration strategies to ensure system scalability and integrity Support project management activities by tracking project milestones, maintaining project documentation, and coordinating with team members. Designing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to enable data exchange between applications, databases, or external systems. Designing database queries and data models to support application functionality and data storage requirements. Participating in software development lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver software applications that meet business needs. Substitution of Education for Experience: You may substitute education for specialized experience at the GS-09 level by possessing a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development of adaptations of applications, systems or networks. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION). - OR - Combination of Experience and Education: Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the GS-07 grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at the grade GS-09.
