Duties
Serve as a Records and Information Management Specialist performing analysis and assessments of programs and processes.
Develop and interpret mission and program policy, and perform senior staff action officer functions for DHA Records Management.
Apply analysis and program support for operational activities including Records Management, official e-mail management policies, life-cycle management (LCM) of records management applications and information systems, paperwork reduction.
Advise leadership on complex and controversial issues, cases, and programs.
Participate in the development and implementation of DHA information and records management policy and doctrine.
Ensure compliance with legislation, higher level policy, direction, guidance, and doctrine.
Represent DHA on integrated policy and records management related issues in meetings with other military departments, National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), other governmental agencies, private industry, and academia as required.

This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating a records management program to ensure alignment with records management statutes/directives; drafting and interpreting records management directives to support consistent application of electronic and hard-copy retention standards; and representing organizational records management interests by engaging with external archival and information management partners (such as the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
