Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Laborer position at Reno OH within the Huntington District, performing a variety of facility and grounds maintenance; will work under the supervision of the Site Manager, and other higher-graded employees.

Maintenance Worker er WG-4749-04: Ability to perform manual tasks that require a basic understanding of cleaning, grounds maintenance and lifting procedures; routine operator maintenance of hand tools and equipment; safely used industrial cleaners (typically used in households) and basic hand and yard tools and equipment, such as a rake, pitch fork, wheelbarrow, hand-pump sprayer, hand truck, shovel, push lawn mower (manual), hammer, screwdriver, wrench, and pliers; and performed routine work assignments with little or no assistance.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
LABORING: The duties require light to moderate physical effort. This involves exertion such as moderate lifting and carrying light to medium-weight objects weighing up to 30 pounds and walking, bending, stooping, standing, and reaching. May require pushing wheelbarrows of mulch or dirt and carts requiring similar effort, occasionally lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects weighing up to 45 pounds.
MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATION: Duties include exertion and/or light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Moderate physical effort in the frequent handling of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and the occasional handling of heavier objects while loading cargo, with the assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
LABORING: Work may be outdoors with exposure to all kinds of weather condition, but usually not in bad weather. The employee may be exposed to drafty, noisy, dusty, and dirty conditions. The work involves standing and walking on concrete floors and uneven terrain. There is a chance of minor injuries, such as cuts, scrapes, insect bites, and bruises. Work requires employee to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, safety glasses and steel-toe shoes to avoid possible hazards in the work area.
MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATION: Drivers operate vehicles in all kinds of weather and are exposed to dirt and fumes, and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle.

One year trial/probationary period may be required.
