Summary As a Project Analyst with a Federal government agency, you are responsible for a variety of analyses and evaluations focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of both line and operating programs and internal administrative operations, organizations, or management functions. This role performs analytical, planning, and evaluative work related to the functional responsibilities of the organization serviced. Examples may include: Performing a series of tasks to research, analyze, and evaluate the efficiency of internal administrative operations. Identifying and developing data for use in the management and direction of programs. Assisting with planning and coordinating all phases of the research and data analysis process, including program analysis, interpretation, and reporting of results. Performing routine assignments and coordination duties that relieve higher-graded specialists of repetitive or mundane tasks associated with project management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you possess the specialized experience and/or education for the grade level to which you are applying. Specialized Experience: Must have at least one year (52 weeks, full-time) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (or comparable level of experience from outside the Federal service) performing at least 3 of the 4 following duties: Collecting organizational data to identify problems or recommendations. Conducting studies of internal operations to improve organizational efficiency. Preparing detailed reports in a presentable format for management. Developing projections or estimates based on past and/or current data with insights into future program and/or resource requirements. Your resume must include how you meet at least 3 of the 4 specialized experience statements. OR Education: Successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or LL.B. or J.D. degree in business, operations management, public administration, or other directly-related field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. (Must submit transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and specialized experience. To determine your combination, first compute your experience as a percentage of the experience listed above; then compute your graduate education as a percentage of the graduate education listed above; then add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate-level education in excess of one year (18 semester hours or equivalent) may be combined with experience. (Must be reflected in your resume, and must submit transcripts.) IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education If you are claiming education as any part of your Minimum Qualifications for this position: You must submit a copy of your college transcript. An unofficial transcript with the degree title, list of courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned can be used as a substitute for official transcripts at the time of application. If you are selected for a position, official transcripts will be required prior to entering on duty. Note about Graduate Education: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications; applicants' resumes and supporting documentation should only reflect education received from schools accredited by such institutions.
