Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of DOD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a military technician position with the 99th Readiness Division, Area Maintenance Support Activity (AMSA) 89 located in Dublin, Virginia. AMENDMENT: Announcement close date changed from 02/19/2026 to 03/05/2026. Duties Maintain issue/turn-in records manually or electronically. Assist in efficient storage and arrangement of materials. Conduct periodic inventories. Inspect items for quality, damage, or overall performance. Perform minor maintenance of tools, parts, and equipment. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a Personnel Security Investigation. This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements. This position requires a medical examination prior to employment. Incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license in order to obtain a Government Motor Vehicle Operator's certificate. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Tools and Parts Attendant ~ without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: Identify equipment or tools for intended use, maintain inventory levels, or perform minor maintenance on equipment or vehicles. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work is performed on hard surface and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Attendant frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies and equipment weighting up to 40 pounds. Hand trucks, dollies and forklifts (4,000-15,000 lbs.) are available for use in handling heavier items. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in storage area which is well lighted, fairly clean, and well heated but occasionally drafty and noisy. There is some possibility of minor cuts and bruises. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. To be eligible to receive moving expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3-day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment. Recruitment and relocation incentives may be authorized. Student loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiations for candidates new to Federal service may be authorized. Credit for Prior Non-Federal Work Experience and Certain Military Service for determining Annual Leave Accrual Rate may be authorized.
