Summary About the Position: This position is located in the Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Tacoma is located on the shores of Commencement Bay, within pristine eyesight of Mount Rainier. Learn more about this agency Duties Manages daily activities that support overall fund control Assigns, distributes and balances daily workload within limits established by the supervisor Reviews and consolidates budget estimates through assessment of validity of assumptions Oversees and coordinates the preparation of a variety of daily, monthly, annual and special reports Monitors the department's internal controls to identify discrepancies in program and budget planning Provides budget and financial management training and advice to the organization's staff Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This is a DOD Financial Management position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 2 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain certification may result in adverse action. Immunization screening may be required. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with budget planning and forecasting; analyzing and resolving budgetary problems; and coaching or training team members. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
