Qualifications
To qualify for a Physical Security Specialist position at the GS-0080-13 level, you must:
Demonstrate in your resume 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1) developing and implementing physical security and access control programs; 2) developing new and revised physical security and access control standards and policies to ensure compliance with applicable polices and regulations 3) delivering reports and presentations to stakeholders with cost-saving strategies to mitigate identified physical security risks and advising management officials of vulnerabilities and deficiencies; and 4) providing guidance and instruction on security programs and requirements.
You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.

If selected, must be able to attend and successfully complete the Physical Security Specialist Training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC).
If selected, must be able to attend and successfully complete the Interagency Security Committee' Risk Management training.
If selected, must be able to attend and successfully complete the DPSM Physical Security Specialist Field Training Program.
If selected, must be able to successfully complete Contracting Officer's Representative certification.

A newly appointed or reappointed employee may receive service credit for prior work experience or active duty uniformed service that otherwise would not be creditable for the purpose of determining his or her annual leave accrual rate.
