Learn more about this agency Duties You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst in the Managerial Accounting Office (MAO). You will develop Standard Operating Procedures for assigned functions and contributes to the development of comprehensive training programs. You will utilize the Budget Execution Manual (BUDEX) to ensure accurate financial data and codes are utilized. You will assist with the implementation of and development of guidelines for financial management related processes. You will monitor correct and provide technical guidance on the Defense Agency Initiative (DAI) system, and the Standard Accounting, Budgeting, and Reporting System (SABRS). Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level GS-07 or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing accounting and budgeting systems; preparing accounting reports; assist with providing training; and maintaining records and reports. A strong analytical background with knowledge in excel, data analysis and dashboarding tools, ERP software applications and DoW budgeting processes, regulations and policies is preferred. To be successful, candidate must be able to proactive and able to work in a fast pace environment, able to learn and apply standardized processes, and look for ways to contribute to process improvement. Education Applicants may also qualify based on education OR a combination of education and experience, in lieu of the one year of specialized experience listed above, through ONE of the following: Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree.
