Summary
About the Position: The U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command is a jointly staffed command and is staffed by representatives of all branches of the Armed Forces. The Test Control Officer serves as a first-line supervisor responsible for implementing Department of Defense (DOD) and Military Entrance Processing Command (MEPCOM) policies and procedures for administering DOD Military Personnel Testing Program.

Duties
Reviews testing practices to develop standard operating procedures and other applicable directives.
Utilizes established procedures to safeguard and account for testing material.
Develops testing schedules that provide optimal access for customers at established testing sites.
Provides managerial oversight of testing sites to ensure the proper administration of enlistment testing.
Utilizes established performance standards to evaluate work of subordinate employees.
Distributes workload among employees to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned task.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Position requires regular evening and weekend work.
Position requires frequent local and occasional temporary duty (TDY) business travel required.
Position requires a valid driver’s license.
This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing oversight of administrative programs and/or staff; using standardized testing practices to administer a variety of tests; exercising quality control of documents to sustain pertinent information (i.e., testing documents); maintaining control of testing environment by ensuring proper test score reporting and result distribution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management or Business related field of study.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest.
