• Location: Round Rock

• Shift/Schedule: Day Position - Monday - Friday (8 hours per day)

JOB SUMMARY

The Massage Therapist performs soft tissue treatments in the clinic setting to aid in the facilitation of healing from various patient complaints. The massage therapist works within an interdisciplinary team that may include acupuncturists, physicians, and other medical providers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

• Performs 60-minute massage treatments including general massage, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, trigger point release, active release, orthopedic massage, lymphatic drainage and passive range of motion exercises.

• Recommends and administers additional modalities such as hot stone massage and aromatherapy, as appropriate.

• Formulates treatment plans and monitors patient progress; modifies treatment as needed for the benefit of the patient.

• Obtains, verifies and maintains all relevant documentation for appropriate charting of therapy rendered.

• Adheres to OSHA and TJC standards as well as department policies and procedures.

• Knows soft tissue techniques and muscle groups.

• Possesses good physical stamina and proven social skills.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

• Basic knowledge of general health care modalities, therapies, terminology and equipment.

• Hold current state massage therapy license.

• Adhere to all current regulations and laws related to massage therapy.

• Ability to handle delicate client information with confidentiality.

• Commitment to receiving continuing education.

• Customer service experience.
