Summary This position is located at Fort Polk, Louisiana, Morale, Welfare and Recreation - Business and Recreation Division Lead a team of individuals dedicated to providing recreational opportunities, maintaining health and physical fitness programs to better the lives of our military and their families. Learn more about this agency Duties Serves as Director of the Recreation Branch. Develops, maintains, plans, and administers Recreation programs, activities, and facilities. Some facilities and programs are seasonal, thereby, requiring a coordination of venues. Manages and develops plans for Recreational Program (e.g., Sports, Fitness, Aquatics, Library and Soldier Center). Budgets for equipment, supplies, and services with appropriated (APF), non-appropriated (NAF), and other available funding needed to accomplish scheduled recreation activities. Coordinates all recreation programs with other activities in the planning, use, and administration of fees, facility usage, and program timing, participating in state and local boards and committees. Provides guidance and leadership to all recreation branch staff. Performs the full range of supervisory duties and personnel management. Establishes Performance Standards and evaluates performance of subordinates Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Directly related progressive work experience directing one or more recreations programs that provided knowledge of the goals, principles, methods and techniques of recreation and an understanding of the interest of individuals or groups and managerial experience of the caliber described above. Experience must have been equivalent to the next lower pay level. Highly Preferred Qualifications At least two (2) years experience supervising and leading teams At least two (2) years experience executing recreational programs, activities, and events. At least two (2) years overseeing recreational facilities and equipment maintenance /replacement programs. **This announcement is inclusive of established Highly Preferred criteria.
