No assumptions will be made about your experience. For GS-13: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is further defined as planning and coordinating the use of land, water, and related resources for recreation and conservation purposes, specifically: the ability to manage and assess program needs for related recreation and conservation activities within identified Wild and Scenic Rivers; working with internal staff and external organizations across multiple States or at the National level; and managing large, multi-state or national-level program budgets and respond to congressional and legislative matters. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
