Job Description
Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities in the DoD. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. Duties
You will develop and fabricate individual ply flat patterns to accurately position and orient each lamina within the laminate.
You will fabricate and lay composite material to form composite skin panels or repairs parts to dimensions and stacking order specified by technical directives.
You will cure lay-up panels utilizing ovens, autoclaves, localized heat blankets, vacuum bags and restraining fixtures under various controlled temperature and pressure cycles.
You will assemble and check mating and fit of complete contoured skin assemblies, substructures, honeycomb core, fittings and structural adhesives to meet exact tolerances prior to bonding.
You will determine tooling requirements for fabrication of new assemblies as well as repair of composite assemblies.
You will fabricate tools and mold from surfaces to meet determined tooling requirements.
You will analyze damage to critical flight components and determine type of repair configuration to be utilized.

Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the screen out listed below.
This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out for this position is performing the following tasks: Developing and coordinating repair mylars; Determining required bleeder ply packages; and Interpreting and applying complex laminate blueprints and engineering sketches. Examples will include showing journey level knowledge of the physical properties and working characteristics of plastic, epoxy, composite and compound ingredients as well as working knowledge of metals, metal properties and metal characteristics.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
