Duties
You will resolve information technology (IT)/Cybersecurity problems in response to customer reported incidents by diagnosing situations on a case-by-case basis.
You will maintain a repository for all organizational or system level cybersecurity related documentation.
You will serve as the primary cybersecurity point of contact and ensure that cybersecurity related events/configuration changes that may impact Information Systems and Platform IT (PIT) systems authorization or security posture are formally reported.
You will develop information security policies to address risk assessment, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
You will analyze information technology (IT)/Cybersecurity program effectiveness to determine if improvements or modifications are necessary.

This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (722) INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY MANAGER, proficiency level Intermediate.
The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
The incumbent must obtain the foundational qualification within nine months and the residential qualification within 12 months of appointment and
maintain those credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for DCWF work role(s) and proficiency level(s).
Must participate in continuous professional development program as described in DoDM 8140.03. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous professional development must be documented and completed.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Demonstrating the ability to protect and defend information and information systems to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability; 2)Assisting with planning and tracking configuration or requirement changes across the enterprise; 3) Applying basic knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation methods in order to troubleshoot and resolve customer problems; 4) ing conduct threat and vulnerability assessments and contribute to risk determination and mitigation planning; and 5) Displaying foundational awareness of counterintelligence-related risks to ensure compliance with security requirements at the systems or Local Area Network (LAN) level.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
