Summary This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Policy and Research, Supervisory Policy Branch. of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of the FDIC's national deposit insurance policy, compliance and coverage issues. Qualifications Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Grade 13 Level: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience with at least two (2) of the following: (1) monitoring policy related to banking or financial institution products and services; (2) evaluating existing or proposed consumer protection laws, regulations, or requirements; or (3) developing or editing written materials (e.g., policy talking points, summaries, position papers, procedures, or memoranda). Grade 14 Level: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience with at least two (2) of the following: (1) analyzing and evaluating policy related to banking or financial institution products and services; (2) analyzing and evaluating existing or proposed consumer protection laws, regulations or requirements; or (3) developing or editing written materials (e.g., policy talking points, summaries, position papers, procedures, or memoranda).   Applicants eligible for ICTAP (Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program) must achieve a score of 80 or higher in the online assessment to be determined “well qualified” for this position.
