Summary This position is located at the Fort Sam Houston Army Fisher House. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Learn more about this agency Duties Perform routine maintenance of equipment Maintain stock of room and cleaning supplies to perform assigned duties Ensure rooms, corridors, stairways and other areas are clean Maintain cleanliness of walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt Required standing and walking on hard and carpeted surfaces with some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of items or carts weighing up to 20 to 40 pounds, and occasionally over 50 pounds. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A one year probationary period may be required. Ability to work occasional Saturdays for special events (IF REQUIRED BY MANAGEMENT). A successful background investigation submission to the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) must be met no later than 30 calendar days after entry on duty or placement in the position for internal candidates. Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability determination. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Education Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Additional information Area of Consideration: The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is defined as Ft. Sam Houston, TX (Bexar) and surrounding area within 50-mile radius; in addition to, you are considered eligible if one of the following applies: 1) you live outside of this area and are able to commute to work on a daily/as needed basis, 2) you are able to relocate yourself on your own expenses, 3) you are an involuntarily separated military member, or 4) you are a military spouse relocating to this installation (eligibility begins 30 days before the military sponsor's reporting date at the new duty location).(Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration). Salary Information: New FWS appointments will be made at the minimum step rate for the appropriate grade Hourly rate is: NA-02 : $18.17 to $21.20 Per Hour Step 1 : $18.17 Step 2: $18.93 Step 3: $19.69 Step 4: $20.44 Step 5: $21.20 except as follows: 1) Garrison commanders or equivalent are authorized to make appointments at the second step rate in recognition of special qualifications, skills, and experience of an exceptional or highly specialized nature. 2) Upon reemployment and reinstatement to a NAF position, the entrance salary may be fixed at any rate for the appropriate grade that does not exceed the rate paid during the previous employment. However, if the highest previous rate falls between two rates of the grade, the employee may be paid at the higher rate. Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
