Learn more about this agency Duties The United States Space Force (USSF) at Patrick SFB, Florida is searching for a Chief Information Security Officer to support SYD 80/AR (NH-0343-03, GS-12/13 equivalent). Description: One team delivering assured access to space and strategic weapons test range capabilities for the nation. The dynamic and experienced Data Governance and Analytics Specialist represents the Launch and Test Range Systems Program Office priorities on issues involving the definition, development, implementation, and monitoring of both long-term acquisition and sustainment programs for Spaceport operational range systems that are being delivered, modified, or maintained. They will lead our data management initiatives and represent LTRS Program Office Engineering as the SPO Data Governance and Analytics Specialist. They oversee the Launch & Test Range Systems (LTRS) data governance and analytics program, including methods, requirements, personnel, policies, processes, and procedures. Acts as the primary LTRS data strategy advisor for to Space Launch Delta Range Management teams. The specialist also plans, organizes, and/or directs data management activities, which comply with legal, regulatory, and USSF/AF/DoD-directed requirements and meet mission and customer needs. Designs, develops, and manages systems that meet current and future business requirements, and applies and extends, enhances, or optimizes the existing architecture. This leader collaborates with the IT team to integrate data management systems and tools across our spaceport systems acquisition system lifecycle management processes (R&D through system disposal) and provide expertise in data analytics, including predictive modeling and data visualization to deliver and enhance mission assurance and to characterize, project, and communicate evolving mission risk to operation system support to space launch missions. Represents the organization with higher levels of management and contractor organizations. Ideal Candidate: The ideal Data Governance and Security Analytics Specialist should have a strong background in data science, computer science, or information systems security, supported by a bachelor's degree or higher. Relevant certifications like CDMP, CAP, CISA, or CISSP are desirable. They should have substantial experience in data governance, data analytics, and data security, preferably in a leadership role. Familiarity with legal, regulatory, and USSF/AF/DoD-directed data security requirements is necessary, including standards like NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR. Leadership skills, excellent communication, and project management proficiency are vital. They should be committed to continuous learning to keep up with evolving data management practices and may need to obtain and maintain a security clearance depending on the organization. Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a U.S Citizen. PCS and Incentives funding is available. Must be able to obtain and maintain Top-Secret security clearance. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise. May be required travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis. This position is eligible for situational telework 2-4 days a pay period. Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year. This position has been designated for drug testing. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment. Will attain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certification applicable for ISS functions required for the position held, within six months of filling position and will maintain in good standing cybersecurity baseline certification Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
