Chief, Division of Cardiology, Albany Medical College Endowed Chair in Cardiology

The Department of Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a Chief to lead our Division of Cardiology. The Division offers unique faculty expertise in all areas of clinical cardiology including imaging and other non-invasive modalities, interventional cardiology and structural heart diseases, electrophysiology, and advanced heart failure.  The Division consists of 17 academic cardiologists based at the main teaching campus, 8 cardiologists practicing at community-based sites, and a team of APPs, nurses, technicians, and other supportive colleagues.  There are thriving ACGME-accredited fellowships in general cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. Albany Medical College is one of the nation’s oldest private medical schools, having been founded in 1839.  Albany Medical Center Hospital is the only academic tertiary and quaternary care hospital in the Capital, Adirondack, and Catskill Regions of Upstate New York.

The successful candidate should be recognized as a clinical expert in their field.  Experience in program development and leadership in clinical and academic enterprises are valued. Success in clinical research is desirable. Prior experience in directly managing academic physicians will be highly valued.  Candidates must be eligible for academic appointment at the associate professor or professor level. The new Chief will hold the George Pataki Endowed Chair in Cardiology and will be expected to lead the Division during this exciting time of growth and expansion of service lines.
