Requirements
Completion of an approved
LPN/LVN program
Current LPN/LVN license to practice in Texas or a Nurse Licensure Compact
state
Preferred: 1+ year experience in behavioral health or residential care
Current American Heart
Association CPR certification
Effective oral and written communication skills
Basic computer and EHR
documentation skills preferred
Core Responsibilities
Provide nursing care, treatment, and general
welfare for residents with complex medical and behavioral needs
Perform routine and advanced
vocational nursing tasks during assigned shifts
Administer medications and treatments (oral, rectal,
topical, injection) per orders and regulations
Collect specimens, perform health screenings, and
monitor responses to treatments and procedures
Perform technical nursing procedures according to
facility and state protocols
Educate residents on health goals and treatment plans
Instruct and
support staff in delivering care that meets residents’ medical needs
Assist with
turning/repositioning during treatments when required
Ensure availability and proper use of medical
and treatment supplies
Maintain accurate medical records in the EHR or paper charts; document and
report observations to the care team
Respond to emergencies and follow safety and infection-control
procedures
Work under limited RN supervision, applying independent judgment
Maintain regular
attendance and work assigned/rotating shifts as required
