**System Chief of Orthopedic Surgery****Location: Baltimore, Maryland**A leading health system in
Maryland is seeking a System Chief of Orthopedic Surgery to provide strategic direction and
leadership for the Department of Orthopedics across multiple hospitals and medical group practices
in the Greater Baltimore region. This role offers the opportunity to lead one of the most advanced
and respected orthopedic programs in the region—recognized for excellence in complex reconstruction,
trauma, arthroplasty, sports medicine, limb deformity, hand and upper extremity, and pediatric
orthopedic care.The orthopedic department also supports residency and fellowship programs and
maintains a robust clinical research division driving innovations in orthopedic surgery. The
incoming System Chief will build upon this strong foundation to advance clinical excellence,
education, and research locally, nationally, and
internationally.________________________________________Position Summary• Provide leadership and
administrative oversight for all components of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery across multiple
hospitals and outpatient practices.• Promote collaboration, outcomes-focused care, and a culture of
accountability and teamwork across academic and clinical functions.• Serve as a role model and
advocate for the mission, vision, and cultural values of the Department and Health System.• Lead and
advance clinical, academic, and research initiatives within Orthopedics.• Strengthen the reputation
and growth of key programs, including arthroplasty and limb reconstruction.• Drive continuous
improvement in quality, safety, and evidence-based care across all service lines.• Ensure compliance
with all relevant regulations and accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CMS, DHMH,
etc.).• Serve as a visible and collaborative leader between Administration, Hospital Staff, and
Department members.________________________________________Candidate Qualifications• Board Certified
in Orthopedic Surgery• 7–10 years of clinical and administrative leadership experience (Chair
experience preferred; emerging leaders will be considered)• Experience within an academic or complex
teaching environment• Demonstrated ability to foster diversity, quality, teamwork, and continuous
improvement• Proven academic and research distinction with national and/or international
recognition________________________________________Compensation & Benefits• Competitive salary:
$750K–$1.1M (commensurate with experience) plus incentive bonus compensation• Flexible Spending
