Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties
Interview facility occupants and contractors to identify problems associated with Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design and requirements.
Evaluate methods of operations of the Direct Digital Control (DDC) Energy Monitoring and Control System (EMCS) to optimize Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) operations and maintenance, and the related energy conservation benefits.
Develop projects to improve the efficiency and performance of existing Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment.
Develop Energy Monitoring and Control System (EMCS) criteria documents (scopes of work) for design packages and studies used in facilities on the installation.
Participate in facility inspections for Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) controls testing and performance verification.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
The duties of this position require the employee to possess a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S.
Employee may be required to travel occasionally for business or training.
Requires the use of protective clothing (i.e. hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, etc.) as provided by the employer.
Physical is required for this position.
A Tier 1 non-sensitive background is required for this position throughout this appointment.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:
Have one year of specialized experience which includes the following. 1) Perform work monitoring and maintaining Direct Digital Control (DDC) Building Automation Systems related to Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC). 2) Perform common tasks for troubleshooting and repairing digital systems for HVAC systems. 3) Use established standard operational procedures for digital HVAC operations or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
