Summary
This position is located at Underwood Gold Complex.

Duties
Makes repairs by removing, cleaning, replacing and sealing defective parts of lawn irrigation systems.
Orders irrigation parts and supplies Repairs/replaces sprinkler heads, piping, valves, couplings and other associated parts to control timers.
Digs holes and trenches to expose broken pipes.
Caulks, glues and seals elbows, union joints and plastic and metal piping.
Must lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
Incumbent may also be required Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
Must lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.
Physical and health assessment are required.
Available to work rotating hours to include weekends, holidays evenings, and possible odd hours.
Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Work experience directly related to the duties described above to include the following skill and knowledge requirements.
Must have a good working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
Must have knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system and pumping stations.
Must have knowledge of how various supply, disposal, and irrigation systems and equipment are installed and operate, and ability to make adjustments.
Must have the ability to plan and lay out the installation and modification of various systems and equipment.
Must have the ability to interpret and apply plans and blueprints, use shop mathematics, and lay out such things as angles, arcs, and circles.
Must have skill in the use of the accepted trade methods and techniques necessary to perform assigned duties.
Must have skill in the use of the tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned duties.
Education
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
