Job Description
Summary
This position is with the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Program located at Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resilience and well-being of Soldiers and Families.

Duties
Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance.
Works in executing recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage, including a variety of multi disciplinary events, i.e., social activities, tournaments and other major programs.
Recommends items of supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions.
Assists with training new personnel.
Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
A one-year Supervisory probationary period may be required.
This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
Work schedule will be irregular, and the incumbent will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
knowledge of a wide range of recreation and sports activities organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities, AND
a basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding of supplies and equipment, AND
the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English), AND
work experience or education directly relating to the duties to be performed.

Education
If using education to support the minimum qualification of "education directly relating to the duties of a Supervisory Recreation Specialist" then transcripts showing courses completed MUST be provided at the time of application. You must live within 100 miles of Fort Drum, NY., AND
If you are a Non-U.S. National, you must have lived in the U.S. or a U.S. Territory for at least three years in a row right before starting this job. Note: Overseas military installations are not considered U.S. territories.
Spouse Employment Preference (SEP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) are included in this area of consideration.

PCS Costs

Allowances and Differentials
This job is part of a pay-banded system. Night differential and Sunday Premium Pay have NOT been authorized by the Garrison Commander for Non-Bargaining NF positions and will not be paid to any Non-Bargaining NF employees.
Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid.
