Faculty position with University in Salt Lake Center

University of Utah in Salt Lake City is recruiting for a Vice Chief for Clinical Operations to provider leadership for the Division's clinical mission. This faculty position provides tertiary clinical care to patients with hematologic malignant and non-malignant conditions. You would be the rank of Associate Professor and will closely collaborate with university and local Cancer Institute clinical admin to oversee both inpatient and outpatient clinical operations. Work to achieve organizational goals as set by Huntsman Cancer Institute, Department of Internal Medicine and Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies.  Collaborate with University of Utah Health and Huntsman Cancer Institute clinical and nursing leadership, as well as ancillary services to improve quality of care.  Provide operational leadership for hematology physicians.  Assure physician compliance with all institutional, local and federal rules and regulations related to clinical practice.  Monitor physician productivity, template optimization, room utilization and other efficiency metrics.  Coordinate physician schedules and vacations, while ensuring appropriate coverage and backup coverage remains.  Oversee operational roles and responsibilities of medical directors.  Assess and improve the availability of clinical services, including those at affiliate sites.  Oversee outreach initiatives.  Assist in setting up new clinical programs, including destination programs.  Ensure seamless integration between clinical care and research missions.  Develop and refine Division policies related to the clinical mission.  Participate in strategic planning and business plan development.  Serve as a member of the Division Leadership Committee and attend all meetings as required.  Collaborates with clinical program leadership including the Disease Group Leadership (i.e., BMT, Lymphoid, Myeloid, Myeloma, Benign).
