Learn more about this agency Duties You will perform site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, identify program deficiencies and assist with determination of appropriate corrective action. You will assist with the collection, documentation and handling of environmental samples and prepare reports as required with documenting these tasks. You will prepare narrative and statistical reports, orders, bulletins and articles. You will assist with regulatory and legally required record keeping, data entry, data base management and perform other duties as assigned. You will assist in reviewing project submittals for land disturbing activities aboard the Base to ensure programs and projects are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and directives. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. The position requires the ability to pass a background investigation. Inability to pass and maintain required background requirements may be a cause for removal from the position. You will be required to possess a current valid United States driver’s license. Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting with implementing plans, programs and/or corrective actions in the area of water management, assisting with performing site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, AND assisting with environmental data management. Education Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual 1. Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. or 2. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
