Locums Neurosurgery Physician

We are currently recruiting a dedicated Locum Tenens Neurosurgery Physician to join our hospital-based practice in Salem, VA. This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized neurosurgical care with a particular focus on stroke interventions. The physician will be responsible for managing a daily patient volume of approximately 5 patients, covering 6 days per month, which includes two weekends (Friday to Monday) per month. Shifts will be 24 hours long, starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 7:00 AM the following day, with call coverage managed from a nearby hotel.   In this role, the Neurosurgery Physician will work within a supportive hospital environment, collaborating closely with nursing staff to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are not required, allowing the physician to focus solely on neurosurgical responsibilities. The practice utilizes the eClinical Works (eCW) electronic medical records system for efficient documentation and continuity of care.Qualifications: Current Virginia state medical license. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neurosurgery. DEA and CSR registration. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
