Summary

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position requires working within an office or clinic setting in which clients may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, emotionally charged or have a contagious disease.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Basic Requirements for Social Worker (0185):
- Must have successfully completed a degree in Social Work that fulfills all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
- OR,
- Must have successfully completed a master's degree in Social Work with practicum.
major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below:
- Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.
- Counseling psychology: For positions at grades GS-9 and above, satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required.
Additional information
Substance Abuse Certification (Alcohol and Drug Counselor II, International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium substance abuse counselor certification, or state equivalent) acquired through passing a proctored exam, from a state or nationally accredited certifying body is required. and two years' experience working in substance use program.
Must meet degree and licensure requirements for USMC credentialing at the independent practitioner level. Requirements include a qualifying master' s degree in a behavioral health discipline and independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
DHA for Domestic Def Industrial Base Facilities & Major Range/Test Facilities Base in DoD
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
