Preservation Servicer (Open to both U.S. Citizens and Federal Employees)

Summary This position is located in the Reserve Fleets, Office of Ship Operations, Office of the Deputy Associate Administrator for Federal Sealift, Office of the Associate Administrator for Strategic Sealift, Maritime Administration (MARAD). Learn more about this agency Duties As a Preservation Servicer, you will: Regularly inspect shipboard coatings and failed coating remediation involving scaling, scraping, and chipping. Perform vessel maintenance through topside housekeeping on non-retention vessels including sweeping and trash removal. Provide deck maintenance and repair, including of exterior surfaces, and surface preparation and recoating of failed areas aboard retention vessels and Fleet service craft. Assist other Fleet production tasks, such as ship arrivals, departures, and mooring as needed. Requirements Conditions of employment You must be a U.S.Citizen and eligible for consideration. To qualify for the WG-07, your experience should include experience equal or equivalent to the following: Ability and willingness to learn how to perform general housekeeping onboard vessels.
