Summary This position is located at Fort Campbell, KY - MWR Aquatics. This is a "Flexible" position (0-40 hours) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans. Learn more about this agency Duties Assist with operation of the pool, assists in scheduling of lifeguards, oversees work of assigned lifeguards and monitors compliance with facility policies; Under direction of the pool supervisor, employ safety rules for the protection of the guest. Assists with the operation of the pool, its filtration system, water balance, pool chemistry and performs water tests. Maintains pool and pool area is clean and free from any hazards. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Responsible for safety of guests in attendance at the assigned aquatic facility. Provides information to patrons regarding safety rules and procedures. Enforces and follows facility Standard Operating Procedures for disciplinary actions. Assist in coaching or preparing the competitive and non-competitive swimming programs as required. Issues towels and checks identification as required. Maintains daily logs and records as required. Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to ATP 7-22.01 as of October 2020. Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Incumbent may also require completing a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. Must have current health assessment which documents good physical health, and free from communicable disease IAW current Army Policy. In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period. Must have good vision (corrected vision if necessary) while on duty to effectively recognize all emergencies, incidents and rule breaking. May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements. Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty, as well as early mornings. In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period. Incumbent isrequired to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). A qualified candidate must possess the following: Possesses and maintains the following certifications: Lifeguard and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS) American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED) First Aid In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess a Lifeguard Certification from the American Red Cross. **Applicants that meet the highly preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first.
