Job Description
Baptist Health System is seeking a board certified/board eligible non-invasive cardiologist to
practice in San Antonio, Texas.
As one of South Texas’ largest healthcare provider organizations,
Baptist Medical Network’s team of healthcare professionals provide care in over 17 communities. The
network’s highly skilled team of cardiovascular providers includes non-invasive and interventional
cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and cardiothoracic surgeons, along with the support of highly
trained physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

Baptist Medical Center has been providing comprehensive, high quality, compassionate care
for more than 115 years in downtown San Antonio. BMC is an Adult Acute Care Hospital. BMC’s primary
patient population is between the ages of 30-80 years old, with a high acuity Med/Surg population
that can be directly attributed to the high diabetic population we serve. 2015 BMC payer mix is
predominantly Medicare 53.03%, Commercial 13.63%, Medicaid 22.32% and self-pay 10.34%. The Primary
Service Area (PSA) covers 32 contiguous zip codes with a population of 877,000. Outside of our PSA
BMC serves South Texas from Corpus Christi to Del Rio. Our number one service line is cardiac and
vascular services, followed by renal disease then acute Med/Surg and geriatric specialized services.
It is a large hospital with 623 beds, 18 ORs, 5 Cath Labs, 36 bed ED, 22 bed Renal Dialysis, 23 bed
Behavioral Health Unit and 24 beds in an Acute Rehabilitation Unit.
