Summary
This vacancy consists of a variety of positions and grade levels aimed at insourcing critical skills. Roles may include real time mission operations in the Mission Control Center, mission systems development, testing, and integration, training and simulation, analysis, and other mission support functions essential to human spaceflight.

Duties
Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
Monitors system performance, identifies issues, and coordinates timely resolutions to ensure safe and reliable mission or training operations.
Analyzes operational data and requirements to refine procedures, tools, or system configurations for mission readiness.
Develops, updates, and maintains technical documentation, procedures, and training materials to support operational teams.
Assists in analyzing technical issues and responding to end-users to troubleshoot complex problems.
Evaluates new technologies or system updates to determine operational impacts and recommends implementation strategies.
Provides timely technical support and troubleshoots reported issues to maintain continuity of mission or training activities.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
You may meet the basic requirements through substitution of education for experience
To qualify at the GS-7, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level:
Performing routine tasks such as gathering basic system or operational information and following detailed instructions to support simple technical activities;
Completing straightforward steps in checking data accuracy, running basic tests, or updating tools while closely following established procedures.
OR
b) Completed 1 full academic year of graduate education with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
OR
c) Completed a bachelor's degree in a field listed above and meet Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) criteria: (1) you must be in the upper third of your graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision; or (2) you must have a 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 GPA; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 GPA based on courses completed in your major field of study during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (3) election to membership in a national scholastic honor society (ACHS).
To qualify for the GS-9, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level:
Assisting others in analyzing technical or system requirements to help identify issues and support the operation of IT or mission systems;
Assisting others in developing, testing, or maintaining software, tools, or system components to support functionality, performance, or user needs;
Assisting others in researching and evaluating technical data, identifying potential risks or problems, and recommending basic solutions using established methods and policies.
OR
b) Completed all requirements for a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
OR
c) Completed 2 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
