Summary
As a Security Specialist within the Office of Protective Services, you will serve as a Team Lead, Special Agent and oversee the Emergency Medical Services program for compliance. You will be responsible for contract oversight, conducting security assessments, coordinating training, and managing security systems. You will support investigations and protective missions to ensure the safety and security of NASA personnel, facilities, and assets

Duties
Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
Serve as the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for the Protective Services Contract, providing contract oversight and coordinating services among customers, procurement, and the contractor.
Perform security assessments, the development of security procedures, standards, training, and methods to protect NASA assets and classified information from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.
Serve as a Team Lead and NASA Special Agent with protective details, investigations, emergency response, threat assessments and cases tied to misconduct to mitigate risks to NASA facilities.
Manage and coordinate security for special events and tours to safeguard NASA assets.
Oversee Glenn Research Center’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program to ensure compliance with Agency, Federal, State, and local policies and regulations, while maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
Oversee and coordinate onsite emergency services training for internal and external stakeholders for the protection of NASA assets and to ensure compliance with Agency and Federal polices and regulations.
Oversee and manage the systems used by NASA for investigative reporting, emergency notifications, and resource management.

This position may require a one-year probationary period. If selected, the requirement to serve such period will be determined by Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 11. **See Additional Information section**

If selected, you must be able meet the standards and training qualifications in strict compliance with 14 CFR, Chapter V, Part 1203b.103, Security Programs Arrest Authority, and Use of Force by NASA Security Force Personnel.
Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
Assisting with developing or implementing security assessments, procedures, standards, or protective measures to safeguard personnel, facilities, assets, or classified information in accordance with Federal security requirements;
Supporting Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) duties, contract oversight, or contractor coordination activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, security standards, and operational objectives;
Coordinating with Emergency Medical Services (EMS), emergency response, or public safety stakeholders to support compliance with Agency, Federal, State, or local policies and regulations.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
Designing, developing, or implementing security assessments, procedures, standards, or protective measures to safeguard personnel, facilities, assets, or classified information in accordance with Federal security requirements;
Performing Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) duties, contract oversight, or contractor coordination activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, security standards, and operational objectives;
Managing, overseeing, or coordinating Emergency Medical Services (EMS), emergency response, or public safety programs to ensure compliance with Agency, Federal, State, or local policies and regulations.
