Summary About the Position: This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Working environment includes kitchen as well as both front and back of house. This position requires Shift Work. Incumbent will supervise a shift to feed military members and patients, along with their family members. Incumbent must have ability to lead others in accomplishing goals and strengthening skills. Learn more about this agency Duties Serve as working leader of 3 or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work. Pass on instructions received from supervisor to employees. Insure food and cleaning supplies, equipment and tools are available. Check work progress and compliance with supervisor's instructions and guidelines. Answer worker's questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives. Provide information to supervisor about status and progress of work. Requirements Conditions of employment Selectee is required to wear protective shoes. This position has been designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Must be able to obtain/ maintain a Food Handler's Certification. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement. Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption. A pre-placement medical examination is required. Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals). This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays. Moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds is required. Incumbent is subject to injuries from equipment used; exposed to dirt, grease and water in cleaning tasks; exposed to extremes in temperature when removing supplies from walk-in refrigerators. Wears safety shoes and other protective items as required. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
