Duties
You will work with Higher Headquarters as well as adjacent commands concerning policy recommendations, program administration, and supply operations.
You will ensure all new procedures required to implement policy changes are documented and fully integrated with systemwide operations.
You will develop recommendations concerning plans and proposals for projects, and resolve problems where useful precedents do not exist and establishment of new concepts are required.
You will assist the Command on all fiscal matters to include annual budget development and execution, Monthly Deficiency Reviews, and documentation of purchase approvals.
You will explain performance expectations to subordinate supervisors and employees directly supervised, provide regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses, and recommend ratings on employee’s performance evaluations.
This position may be part of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), the Crisis Action Team, Destructive Weather, Air Show, and other events deemed necessary by the S-4 Officer or Commanding Officer.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
You will be required to attend Marine Corps Supply training- Ground Supply Chief Course- at Camp Johnson, NC for three months as unfunded TAD training within a year of appointment.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting research and developing new approaches and applications in supply theory, technological developments, or controls over supply work; resolving problems or issues concerning the phases of supply support implementation.

Education
You may also meet the minimum qualifications through education and/or combination of education and experience by satisfying one of the following for the GS-11:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or
LL.M., if related

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
