Summary
This position serves as Without Compensation Computer Scientist within the Office of Research and Development (ORD). The VA Research Program strives to promote Veteran-centered care to improve patient experiences and outcomes across VA healthcare and community settings, and to advance value-driven care by providing Veterans the highest quality care at the lowest financial burden. Please note, there is no pay associated with this position.

Conditions of Employment
- U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

Qualifications
- Experience: You must possess general experience in: Applying relational databases and software development to research experience within the framework of health services research. Applying artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing (NLP) machine learning and deep learning methodologies and applications to support health services research and quality improvement projects.
- Education: You must possess a a doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science (Copies of transcripts are required at the time of application).

Additional information
Pursuant to VHA Directive 1193.01, VHA health care personnel (HCP) are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 subject to such accommodations as required by law (i.e., medical, religious or pregnancy).
