SECURITY SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist within NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY. This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Duties You will perform initial indoctrinations and re-indoctrinations and other training for briefed personnel. You will advise NRL management and briefed individuals on continuing evaluation of personnel for special access program eligibility. You will manage the Special Access Security Education Program. You will monitor compliance with security training requirements. You will be responsible for completion and maintenance of all Fix Facility Checklist. Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5/10) or pay band (NO-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1) Managing various types of special access programs utilizing demonstrated knowledge of appropriate security requirements and procedures; 2) Advising personnel in completing detailed questionnaires regarding personal information utilizing required personnel security procedures and adjudication guidelines; 3) Providing guidance in the construction of areas to meet physical security requirements specified by agencies; and 4) Communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
