The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a supervisory budget analyst in the installations budget office.

Duties
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
At the agency level performs budget formulation procedures/processes involving independent assessments and preparation of complex detailed analyses, budget estimates, special reports and other documentation for segment of the Air Force budget.
Ensures proper execution of a segment of the Air Force budget as authorized and appropriated by Congress.
Provides financial advisory services for a segment of the agency budget.
Uses automated budgetary system(s) and computer-generated products in accomplishing budget assignments.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

This position may require travel.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of experience equivalent to at least the NH-02, or GS-11, level in the Federal Service (or equivalent in other pay systems). Experience may include experience in budget formulation, execution, implementation of budgetary policies, instructions, and procedures and/or analysis of budgets for substantive programs and support activities.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a proven leader capable of guiding an integrated team of military and civilian personnel through complex accounting operations. They must possess exceptional decision support skills to analyze intricate financial data and provide actionable data to senior leadership. Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively articulate complex information to diverse stakeholders.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the policies, principles, concepts, guidance, procedures, techniques and methodologies pertaining to budget formulation and financial management.
Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures and operation of DoW and Air Force organizations pertaining to budget formulation and financial management to provide guidance to subordinate units.
Knowledge of revolving funds and annual and multiple year appropriations; their characteristics, uses, applications and data structure.
Knowledge of the DoW Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution process and its products, terminology and guidance documents, including DoW budget and financial management regulations, OMB Circulars and Congressional legislations.
Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely and with technical accuracy.
Ability to plan, organize, mentor, motivate and direct subordinate teammates in the use of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities and economic usages to effectively complete assignments.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
