Summary
This position is located at Fort Lee, VA - Community Recreation Divison.

Duties
Develops, manages, maintains and administers the installation Outdoor Recreation Program. Plans, supervises and directs outdoor recreation activities and services.
Devises, improvises, and adapts activities to fit the conditions of the natural environment, and to conform to limitations in funds, facilities, equipment, and staff support. Responsible for inventories and property.
Determines equipment condition; initiates maintenance, repair or replacement. Recommends purchase/construction of equipment and facilities. Oversees the instruction of customers and monitors proper usage of equipment.
Prepares budgets and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations. Ensures proper procedures are used so no misappropriation of funds occurs. Maintains effective internal controls.
Integrates risk management, and installation and organization safety program requirements. Supervises recreation, administrative support and maintenance staff.

Driver's license required.
A one-year probationary period may be required for this position.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Work experience that included the goals, principles, method of techniques, of outdoor recreation and understanding the interests of individuals and groups.
Work experience planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs.
Work experience supervising support staff in outdoor recreation programs.
Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
Preferred are those applicants that possess a Certified Leisure Professional through National Recreation and Park Association and work experience as indicated above and a bachelor's degree in the recreation/outdoor program areas.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
Possess a bachelor's or master's degree in an outdoor recreation, recreation or management field ORhave a minimum of 2 years' work experience in next lower grade in an outdoor recreation field.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials:
This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
